Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in 1973, Ivan stands as the youngest of four siblings in a modest social class family. At the age of 13, his fascination with watercraft and curiosity about how a heavy object could float propelled him to explore the marine industry.

At 17, he entered as a boat cleaner, achieving the position of first officer on a Bertram 50' within seven months. Simultaneously, he delved into studies of Sales and Marketing at Ana G. Méndez University. In May 1996, he joined his life with Isabel, and together they founded Active Group Marine Service, a preventive maintenance service company.

The year 1999 marked the birth of his son, Iván, and by 2000, his career escalated when Tiara Yachts, Pursuit Boat, and Grady-White Boat appointed him as their warranty service provider for Puerto Rico. In 2005, after a decade of navigating Florida and the Caribbean, he obtained the title of Captain Master 100 tons from the Coast Guard.

In 2007, Bertram Yachts recruited him for the Marina Test position in Miami, Florida, where he was responsible for quality control by checking vessels as they came off the production line. In 2008, he consolidated his experience with the title of Marine Surveyor.

2015 marked a new chapter with the founding of The Puerto Rican Sea Group, offering comprehensive services in brokerage, maintenance, and management, in addition to becoming a distributor for QUICK ITALY in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.
